I was out shooting the northern lights the other night and the lights were quite strong and vivid. When they had died down a bit and I started making my way back I spotted this little shed down by a small creek. There were still some northern lights low on the horizon behind a hill in the background and it actually proved to be perfect condition for the long exposure needed for my packfilm (an exposure of several minutes is not ideal for the aurora if it’s moving all over the sky). This actually turned out to be my favorite shot of the night, the shot I almost didn’t take because I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. Goes to show that in photography you just never know, and that’s what keeps it exciting.
Oh btw that blob in the upper left corner is unfortunately not some space anomaly visible with the bake eye, it’s just a defect in the Polaroid (Fuji to be precise) instant film.
